i've always liked
ruth asawa's work but haven't really had a chance to see too much of it. it seems that i will randomly come across some of her pieces and then remember... oh yeah! ruth asawa is pretty cool. from afar i am always reminded of trees, twigs, and things from nature, but upon closer inspection, the sculptures are made up of twisted wire. very interesting. most prominent in my mind is the piece of hers that hangs on the outside of the oakland museum. the other day i was treated to a free trip to the newly remodeled
deyoung museum and i came across a few more of her pieces! i took a few pictures and it turns out that all of them are blurry. but since i am still trapped in my ie hotel room i thought i would take advantage of my internet access and share them with you.
