i have a definite weakness for food magazines. cooking light, martha stewart, food & wine, gourmet... i think the magazine stacks might be taking over the apartment!

the september 2007 issue of cooking light is definitely an issue of note (special 20th anniversary issue) and i have flagged several recipes for test runs.

last nights experiment was the Chicken and Root Vegetable Potpie

i made a few substitutions just based on what was in my fridge. no peas, celery, pearl onions, or parsley... and additions of roasted garlic and spinach. it was pretty simple, just a lot of chopping and whisking... but other than that it was a nice meal to have on a cold rainy night!
