iris

I put these bulbs in the ground in the early spring or late winter of last year. The leaves have looked pretty much the same for the past few months, so I was not expecting anything exciting to happen with them, but when I returned after a couple weeks away, they had flower buds. Then, they burst into bloom.

I took this picture right before it started to rain again.

Edited: I just noticed that the text for the blog and the flowers are almost exactly the same color. I didn't plan this-- I swear! Hahaha. The iris corms were a third-hand gift and I had no idea what color they would become.
