you would think that with my extended stint of unemployment i would be inspired to blog since i finally have all of this usually elusive thing called time on my hands. unfortunately, i seem to have been sucked into the abyss that is reality television. ACK!
the 'rents however, are always inspiring me in random ways. the last time i visited they suckered into helping them pull what seemed to be thousands of weeds from their newly budding garden. i think my dad said something to me like... oh! of course there are no BUGS in the garden! just come over here and pull some weeds! of course the newbie (clueless) gardener in me believed him. hahahaha...
so newly inspired i cleaned off my patio and what had been previously dubbed 'the table of death', a small shelf which was littered with plant carcasses from previous inspired moments, and planted a whole buncha seeds. i figured the more seeds i planted the higher probablity that something would actually grow.
everyday since then i've been going out on the patio in the morning to water the containers and inspect them for anything green. i discovered the first morning that my potting soil actually has these odd green ball things in it. i think they must be nutrients or something but they completely throw off the morning seedling inspection. after a week and a half of watering i was beginning to get discouraged and i even stopped watering them for a few days but this morning i noticed a few buds popping out of the soil!
according to my map i have various types of basil, parsley, and cilantro in the works! yippie! hopefully the cold weather and rain tomorrow don't kill them.
