soup swap group shot

ever since i spotted this on the web, i haven't been able to get it out of my head.
due to this obsession, saturday a few friends came over to do some swapping. my weekend scheduling left something to be desired and i ended up being late to my own soup swap party but luckily everything else seemed to go fairly smoothly. i was so distracted by the soups that i forgot to take any PEOPLE pictures but i did take a few snaps of the soups themselves. =)
the soup lineup was great! there seemed to be a little confusion as to whether or not we were actually EATING soup but it turned out that there was some extra to accomodate soup eating. =)
we had a bunch to choose from (split pea, corn chowder, white bean/tomato/fresh herbs with olive bread, thai pumpkin curry, lemon chicken rice, curry lentil soup with herb yogurt topping, vietnamese dessert, french onion, lentil with bacon, lamb) and i have to say that it felt a little bit like christmas when we were picking. it's only been a day since the swap and i've eaten all of my curry lentil soup and have tasted several others. =) SO TASTY! if you're thinking about doing a soup swap i am now a strong advocate of soup day. swap on!

I burnt it and even pretending like it contained bacon did not help. Good thing I wasn't going to a soup swap!!
