what have i accomplished over the holiday break? eating. endless eating. impressing others with my eating capabilities. for a skinny asian girl i can consume way more food than you can ever imagine! more than once i ate two dinners. the other nite dinner number one was a turkey dinner with all the fixings. tasty but heavy. so i told myself to eat light during dinner number two. dinner number two was a six course tasting menu a la henri! i could have eaten light… but then it wouldn’t have been as enjoyable! yum…

i won’t go into the details of it all for fear of making you all extremely jealous… but some of the food involved were kumamoto oysters, hangar steak, and cassoulet. mmm… i’m getting hungry again just thinking about it! sandia took some pics so perhaps she will post em up. hint hint!

another accomplishment over the holiday break is that the no knead bread recipe has helped me get past my fear of yeast and breadmaking. seeing that the whole process can be relatively harmless has catapulted me into a completely new world of filled with yeasty recipes. there is a whole queue to work through but i started with a relatively easy recipe from dessert comes first. a chocolate raisin swirl bread. it’s an easy recipe but be prepared to hang around the house for a couple of hours watching it rise. it’s definitely not an unpleasant way to spend the morning though. mmmm… bread.

I was going through old emails and the email Cindy sent inviting me to the dinner said "nothing fancy." Hahahaha!
