After working on a statistics project for most of the day, I wasn't sure if I was up for making something to bring to an appetizer/dessert party, but I thought to myself that baking can be therapeutic. Also, when else would I have an excuse to make the pear, rosemary, goat cheese muffins that I posted about... but then who really needs an excuse?
As a result, at 9 pm last Friday, I found myself saying to a log of goat cheese, "Work with me, here!" The only major mishaps were when I put 1 1/2 tablespoons instead of teaspoons of sugar and then left the oven on when I went to the party. The muffins also didn't really want to get out of the pan on their own, as you can tell from the photo. I also miscalculated what half the batter was and so I didn't have quite enough to cover up the goat cheese on some of the later muffins. No one complained...
Ok, I lied. The other major mishap was when I dropped the last muffin on the ground! Poor muffin.

Those look yummy. Then again, I'm all for anything with goat cheese in it. I don't know what I would do if I were like Alvin's brother's wife and allergic to goat cheese!
