Je ne parle pas français. I had to use AltaVista to figure out how to spell this.

I don't speak French. This does not stop me from doing things that knowing French would undoubtedly make easier, such as solo trips to Paris or buying French knitting magazines. In light of this, it was inevitable that I should then start knitting a pattern written in French (of course, not from the magazine I bought, but from one free on the web).

I'm making this out of the same black cotton yarn as the fingerless gloves from the post below. I don't think I could have too many black cardigans. I have one right now, but I somehow managed to yank the zipper pull off. It must be my brutish strength. Haha. Fortunately, the pattern isn't that complicated and is mostly knit and purl, so the translation hasn't pushed me over the edge yet.

I bought the yarn on ebay a long time ago and maybe two years ago started making a Sitcom Chic out of it. I don't know what happened, since I still think that pattern is cute, but the project didn't make it. It languished and I finally ripped it out a year ago. Somehow, the yarn, which had come in two enormous, cake-like skeins, became two floppy, snake-like skeins/blobs. If I don't end up screaming and throwing one of them against the wall, I deserve some sort of knitting prize (like another book! haha!).
