kanzashi

The idea of tsumami kanzashi, folded fabric flowers that adorn hair accessories, has been floating around in the back of my mind for awhile, but recently I decided to give it a go. Naturally, any project had to involve excessive internet research before getting off the ground. First, there was this tutorial on crafster as well as another to make rounded petals. Then there was this. Finally, there were movies!

I think I did things the hard way, but I ended up with this. I used up some rayon scraps from a lavender eye pillow-making binge I had a few years back and some hematite beads that I bought in college(!).



When all was done, I felt a little bit like Koma Neko. Now what do I do with this thing?
