i'm trying to grow my own produce. since corn doesn't grow well on a condo balcony i decided on lettuce and spinach instead. the seeds actually sprouted! the spinach seeds had some strange directions. "wash in a mild detergent. rinse and then soak for 24 hours." i wonder why you have to wash them?
at least if i grown my own spinach i won't have to worry about e. coli like on the spinach in our stores!

Argh! I hardly ever buy spinach in bags, but I did last week and now I have to throw it out and waste food!
